BREAKING- Suspect In Columbus Fatal Shooting Captured

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Police say a suspect is in custody in connection with a Friday night shooting

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says an 18-year-old young man died Friday night in a shooting in Columbus’ South side. He’s not releasing the identity or cause of death at this time. A spokesman for the City of Colimbus said the fatal shooting happened in the 1700 block of 4th Avenue South but adds detectives spent Friday night and the early hours of Saturday processing two other crime scenes to see if they are connected to the fatal shooting .  They are also seeking to confirm a second person was shot .  Both the Coroner and the CPD are planning on releasing more details including identities later Saturday.   We will have the latest on this developing story here on WCBI.com
