Mississippi National Guardsmen Head To Texas

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI)- More help is on the way to parts of flood-battered Texas.

Members of the Mississippi National Guard are serving in Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

30 soldiers and airmen are there, helping with relief efforts.

The soldiers will use helicopters to assist in search and rescue missions, while the airmen will help transport other National Guardsmen for response support.

General Janson D. Boyles, the Adjutant General of Mississippi, says the soldiers and airmen will be there as long as they’re needed.
