AREA CLOSINGS

CLOSING AND DELAYS – 01/22/2026

The following is a running list of any schools, offices, or businesses that have reported changes to their regular operating hours due to the threat of inclement weather. We will keep updating as we become aware of more closing reports in the area.

Schools and Universities: 

  • East Mississippi Community College (EMCC): All East Mississippi Community College campuses will be CLOSED on Monday, Jan. 26, due to the potential for winter weather.
  •  Itawamba Community College: All locations of Itawamba Community College will be closed on Monday, January 26.
  • Mississippi University for Women: CLOSED Friday, January 23 at 10 p.m. and will resume normal operations Tuesday, January 27 at 8 a.m. Virtual classes scheduled for Monday, January 26. Face-to-face classes will be canceled.

 

Businesses, Clinics, and Organizations:

  • Alabama Driver License Offices (Lamar County): CLOSED Monday Due to Winter Weather Conditions and Potentially Dangerous Roadways.
  • Full Gospel Ministries (Columbus): No Service on Sunday, January 25.
  • Golden Horn Fine Steaks and Seafood: CLOSED Saturday, January 24, due to inclement winter weather.
  • KentWW/Sqwincher Columbus: Friday 1/23-  No 2nd Shift, Monday 1/26- All Shifts down. Resume regular operations on Tuesday, 1/27.
  • Kingdom Builders Outreach: No service on Sunday, January 23.

  • Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) offices and WIN Job Centers:

    • Friday Office Closures, January 23, 2026                                                                

      • Communiversity WIN Job Center – closes at 2 pm
      • Clarksdale WIN Job Center – closes at 3 pm
      • Cleveland WIN Job Center – closes at 3 pm  
      • Corinth WIN Job Center – closes at 3 pm
    • Monday Office Closures, January 26, 2026
      • Batesville WIN Job Center
      • Communiversity WIN Job Center
      • Marshall County WIN Job Center

  • Monroe County offices: CLOSED Monday and Tuesday, January 26 and 27, due to weather, including the Chancery, Justice, and Circuit Courts.
  • North Mississippi Health Services: 
  • PECO Foods: CLOSED on Monday, January 26.
  • Zion Gate M. B. Church (Columbus): NO SERVICE for Sunday, January 25.
  • Winston County Justice Court: Court dates rescheduled for Wednesday, January 28, at 8:30 am due to weather.
