Columbus Disabled American Veterans came together for Thanksgiving

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Columbus, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6, hosted a Thanksgiving get-together for fellow service members and their families.

Attendees were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving spread and fellowship amongst other members.

Treasurer Butch Mistrot said the organization looks to be a home for the holiday, but its goal is to help disabled veterans year-round.

“A lot of the folks here have disabilities from their time in service and those are the people we try to support. The place is basically open to the public but when veterans have issues like that they can come in here and generally find someone in here to talk to and we can refer them to wherever they need to go to get additional help,” said Mistrot.
