Columbus High School Gets Students Ready For State Testing
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- “Strive For Five.”
That’s the motto for Columbus High School as students prepare for state testing this week.
Falcon Nation is shooting for either advanced or proficient in all subjects.
On Monday, the school held a pep rally to fire up the students.
Instead of different grades completing against one another, the competitions consisted of different school subjects facing off.
School teachers have been prepping students all year long for this moment and said they’re confident they’ll accomplish their goal.
“For me it’s going to be a personal goal that I’ve set to work hard because I care about my students,” said Alissa Wriley Bafford who teaches 11th grade U.S. History at CHS. “I care about them graduating, I care about them scoring high on this test, so it’s important to me as well as the other faculty members as well that are preparing for it.
State testing will begin on Wednesday.
Grades ninth through eleventh will be tested on Algebra, English, U.S. History and Biology.
