Columbus police investigate northside shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- A shooting is under investigation in the Friendly City.

The scene unfolded around 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 Block of 16th Street North.

Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton says someone fired shots at a house. He says it doesn’t appear anyone was hit during the exchange.

Chief Shelton says at this time there’s no motive for the gunfire.

The case is still under investigation.
