Disaster funding eligible for private non-profits

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI)- The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding Private NonProfit organizations (PNPs) of the June 24 deadline to submit disaster loan applications for physical damages caused by the severe weather from Feb. 22 through March 29, 2019.

Calhoun, Chickasaw, Clay, Grenada, Lowndes, Pontotoc, and Tishomingo counties are all eligible to apply.

PNPs that do not provide critical services of a governmental nature, such as food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools, and colleges, may be eligible to apply for low-interest rate disaster loans.

PNP organizations may borrow up to $2 million, with an interest rate of 2.75%, to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.

Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application via SBA’s secure website at Disasterloan.sba.gov.
