COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Direct TV and Dish network service is affected by the tornado which tore through Tupelo. Service for local stations is delivered to the satellite providers through a fiber link. That fiber was heavily damaged in the storm. Efforts are underway to route the signals in a different path to the hub but no time frame for when that will happen has been established. WCBI will stream all of its newscasts and any severe weather coverage until service is restored.

This is the only way get the local weather and still storms out there. I understand this isn’t the companies fault but I do think we should get a reduce in this month statement not getting full services! The cable works great at the neighbors and direct is out!

What about the shows that we’re missed. Will they be played at a later time?

That’s what you get with Dish or Directv……no reduced bill, enjoy!

Ever since the bad weather & the sation went off the air, there has been no closed caption on WCBI. I don’t know if anyone has made the powers that be aware of this situation. All other networks & shows have managed to keep their closed caption, but WCBI hasn’t.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
