K-9 helps make drug bust in Tishomingo County

TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The newest four-legged officer with Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office helped make a drug bust.

On April 4, deputies had a check-point on Jefferson Road in Burnsville. Deputies learned a driver going through the check-point had a suspended driver’s license.

Tishomingo County’s newest K-9 Myra and her handler Deputy Thomas Mynatt conducted a search on the car.

While searching the car, Myra alerted to drugs in the car. Deputies found alleged methamphetamine in a trash bag during a further search.

Marshall Forshey, 46, of Rienzi was charged with Felony Possession of Controlled Substance.

His bond was set at $10,000.
