Law enforcement searching for escaped inmate in Yalobusha County

YALOBUSHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Law enforcement is continuing to search for an inmate that escaped from a Northeast Mississippi detention center.

39-year-old Ewel William Scott escaped from Yalobusha Detention Center on April 1, just after 9 p.m.

Scott has brown hair and blue eyes. He is about 5 foot 8 and weighs 120 pounds.

Yalobusha County deputies say Scott has ties to Tallahatchie, Panola and Yalobusha counties.

Scott was being held at the detention center on a felony taking of a vehicle charge.

If anyone has information on Scott’s whereabouts, they are asked to call 9-1-1.
