Local veteran who knit caps for pre-mature babies passes away
MONTPELLIER, Miss. (WCBI) – A lot of heavy hearts in the town of Montpellier Monday.
The man who many folks there knew as “papa” White has passed away.
Back in September, our cameras caught up with 98-year-old Bill White.
White had a passion for knitting caps for pre-mature born babies that were in NICUs across the country.
White was also a United States Veteran.
His daughter taught him the craft with a youtube video and then it quickly became a hobby for Papa White and his wife.
White passed away from congestive heart failure Sunday morning.
