Viral Video Sends Lumberton Police Chief Into Resignation

LUMBERTON, Miss. (WCBI) – A Mississippi Police Chief who was filmed smoking what he says was weed, has resigned.

A video surfaced on social media showing, who city officials say was Lumberton Police Chief, Shane Flynt.

On Tuesday, March 6, the Lumberton Board of Alderman voted unanimously to accept Flynt’s resignation.

WDAM reports The city mayor wanted to fire Flynt but no motion was made by the board.

Flynt has said in a statement on Facebook that he made a “huge mistake.”

He says his wife had filmed him while inside his home.
