Mississippi invests millions to improve, develop industrial sites

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – The State of Mississippi is investing nearly $17 million to improve and develop industrial sites around the state.

The Mississippi Development Authority is issuing the Site Development Grants through its Select Sites program.

MDA had a South Carolina company evaluate 32 publicly-owned industrial sites around Mississippi.

13 of those are being invited to apply for the grants.

Three of those are in the viewing area.

Oktibbeha County’s NorthStar Industrial Park is seeking just over $2.5 million to build a 200,000-square-foot building pad.

In Union County, the Martintown North site needs $1.6 million to build a water tower and install underground electrical lines.

Grenada County’s Business and Technology Park North is looking for just over $4.3 million for grading at the 200-acre rail-served facility.

The grants will be based on the current availability of funds for the Select Sites program.
