Mississippi’s Population Dwindling

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – For three years running, the magnolia state’s population continues to fall.

The Census Bureau released their estimates today, December 21, stating almost 8,000 residents left the state.

Mississippi was one of eight states to have negative population growth, now sitting at 2.98 million.

Although there were 6,500 more births than deaths, out-migration tipped the scales.
