New York City live animal markets could be shut down

Live animal markets in New York City are facing mounting calls to shut down after a so-called “wet market” in Wuhan, China was blamed as the potential cause of the coronavirus pandemic. Although they are legally-run and do not sell exotic animals, animal rights activists and local officials are concerned about the conditions of these markets.
