Several booths lined up for Lemonade Day

COLUMBUS, Miss (WCBI) – A hot day is a great day to get out and sell lemonade, and that’s exactly what hundreds of people did throughout the Golden Triangle, including right here in Columbus.

Several booths and stands were set up on Main Street in Columbus, this was all a part of Lemonade Day.

For some business owners, it was a great way to meet people, and for others, it was a great way to make some extra money.

Golden Triangle City Director Garrison Walker said, the goal of Lemonade Day is to teach the younger generation some business and entrepreneurship skills.

“Our hope is that they take the curriculum and not only apply it to the lemonade day experience but also get a chance to learn that it really is this simple, this is what it will cost for met to start and all of these sorts of things.” said Garrison Walker, Golden Triangle City Director. “So, our hope is that the kids and their families to learn that it is really easy to become an entrepreneur, and Lemonade Day is the purest and simplest form to get that started.”

“Lemonade Day was a great way to learn how to make money for my business.” said Chloe Mccarter, Owner of Chloe and Amari’s Sunshine Sips.

95 stands were set up across the Golden Triangle, and the top winner of Lemonade Day will receive a prize.
