Tornadoes sweep through Midwest, South

More than 1,300 homes are without power after destructive tornadoes swept through the South and Midwest and injured at least 20 people. At least 13 tornadoes downed power lines and flipped cars in the hardest hit areas of central Illinois. A tornado also struck a Georgia naval base, flipping a Coast Guard ship and injuring at least one person.
