Town & Tower presents annual community, campus service awards

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An organization that brings the City of Columbus, Mississippi University for Women, and the Columbus Air Force Base together was celebrating residents who make a difference.

Town and Tower presented its annual Community Service and Campus Service Awards at the organization’s holiday luncheon.

This year’s Community Service Award went to Columbus realtor Colin Krieger, and Doug Pellum, the owner of Zachary’s restaurant.

The pair was recognized for events and fundraisers they’ve organized over the years to help others in the community in times of need.

“Man, I hope more people get involved. We live in a great community. There’s a ton of great people. I could think of 20 people in this room that could have gotten an award similar to this. And I hope a lot of people have that day where they get a little nod for the good deeds they do,” said Krieger.

Town and Tower meets quarterly and rotates among the W campus, the City of Columbus, and Columbus Air Force Base.
