COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Officials with the parent’s campaign spoke to members of the rotary club this afternoon.
Leaders spoke about the recent legislation in the house and senate effecting education and what impact it will have on Columbus and Mississippi as a whole.
Officials want parents to educate themselves in order to help their child’s future.
In order to really move the needle on student achievement, we’re going to have to get serious about making sure that every teacher in every classroom is an expert in the subject. We’ve go to make sure schools have the resources they need. so there’s a lot that remains to be done,” said executive director Nancy Loome.
Officials also spoke about education reform and what’s needed to improve student achievement.
