ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Alcorn County investigators have made an arrest in the slaying of two Alcorn County residents.

Jeanette Martha Gray, 56, and Archie Wayne Williams, 50, were found shot to death Saturday afternoon on County Road 171 near the Old Fields Schools.  Alcorn Investigator Reggie Anderson says it appears the couple were actually killed last Wednesday but not discovered until the weekend.

Charged in the case is 24-year-old Michael Lee Meeks of Alcorn County. Investigators were able to link Meeks to the crime and he was taken into custody with assistance from Litttleville and Cherokee, Ala. police departments.

Meeks is charged with two counts of capital murder and is being held without bond.  Investigators are still trying to pinpoint an exact motive for the slayings.
