Video: Budget Talks Continue in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus city councilmen held a public hearing Tuesday night on their budget for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

In this year’s proposed budget? A three percent pay raise for city workers, and no tax increase.

City officials say the total proposed budget is $24,336,750.

The final budget vote isn’t until next Tuesday, but councilmen did approve the millage, which is 105.08.

The new fiscal year begins October 1.
