Video: Columbus Police Chase Ends In Head-On Collision

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A traffic stop turns into a chase and ends in a head-on collision in Columbus on Friday afternoon.

Columbus police say they tried to stop a vehicle near Park Circle.

The unidentified driver didn’t stop.

We’re told he almost hit a patrol car during the pursuit.

The chase went onto Nash Road, where the driver lost control and collided with a Columbus police department patrol car.

Sources tell WCBI Bruce Owens is the driver of the vehicle. He was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle with non-life threatening injuries.

Owens could be facing numerous charges.

The unidentified officer was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
