Video: Columbus Soccer Fields Getting Spruced Up In Preparation For Big Weekend

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The finishing touches are being put on soccer fields across Columbus.

Workers want the fields to look just right before the President’s Cup Soccer Tournament begins tomorrow.

It’s the largest tournament in the state.

More than 5,000 people are expected to participate in one way or another during the two day event.

Competition begins Saturday morning and ends Sunday.

Four age groups will compete in games at the Columbus Soccer Complex, Joe Cook Soccer Complex and Columbus High.

The tournament is expected to have a $2 million dollar impact in the city.
