Elderly Couple Found Dead in Rankin County

FLORENCE, Miss. (AP) – Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey says an arrest has been made in the death of an elderly couple whose bodies were found dead in their home on Mississippi Highway 469 near Florence.

Bailey was providing no other details Wednesday, according to multiple media reports. The names of the man and woman have not been released.

Baileys says a neighbor looked through a window Tuesday, saw a woman lying on the floor and called authorities. When deputies arrived and entered the home, Bailey says they found a second body.

Bailey says they are investigating the deaths of the elderly couple, identified as being in their 70s, as homicides.
