Former Amory Mayor Passes Away

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Amory residents are mourning the loss of a former city leader.

Mayor Brad Blalock has confirmed with WCBI that former mayor Howard Boozer has died.

Blalock says Boozer was taken to a Tupelo hospital Monday afternoon, with what were believed to be heart complications.

Boozer served Amory for two terms, and left office in 2013.

He also served as an interim director for the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.

Blalock says Boozer was a good man, and will be sorely missed by all.
