I.D. Thieves Nabbed In New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) — New Albany police have arrested six people who may turn out to be part of a national identity theft ring.

Chief Chris Robertson says it all started when someone tried to use a stolen credit card at Lowes in New Albany. While trying to use the bogus card a state trooper walked in and the subjects panicked and ran. The trooper was able to pursue them until New Albany police arrived. Chief Robertson says they seized about 50 fake credit cards plus thousands more in cash and legitimate gift cards. So far the suspects have been linked to using stolen cards in stores from upstate New York to Mississippi
