COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) — The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Joey Bragg as the new Chamber President. Prior to joining the Chamber, he was employed at BancorpSouth as a Commercial and Consumer Banker.

“I am extremely excited to be the new President of the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and have the opportunity to help my community thrive in every aspect,” said Bragg. “Initially, our goal will be to establish the Chamber as the organization new and established businesses can rely upon. Our community’s businesses are our focus.”

As President, Bragg has the unique role of rebranding the Chamber as it moves to a more autonomous organization. Working with the CLCC Board of Directors and Chamber volunteers, his duties include membership recruitment and retention, public relations, programming and organizational administration of the Chamber. The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce represents approximately 500 businesses that employ more than 5,000 community members.

“Joey possess an intangible quality of community passion,” said Macaulay Whitaker, VP of Internal and External Affairs at the GTR LINK and former VP of the Chamber. “He brings enthusiasm, valuable work experience and a great rapport with local businesses to the organization. He will do a great job ushering the Chamber into a new identity.”

Bragg is a graduate of Mississippi State University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. A long-time resident of the community, he played football for the University of Alabama before returning to the Golden Triangle to complete his degree.

He is married to Erin McGee Bragg and they are expecting their first child this spring.
