Man Arrested in Connection with Lowndes Co. Car Burglaries

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — An Ethelsville, Alabama man is behind bars, following a string of car burglaries in Lowndes County.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Lathen Box early Saturday morning in a neighborhood near Lake Lowndes.

Capt. Ryan Rickert tells WCBI concerned neighbors there called the sheriff’s department about suspicious activity in the area.

When deputies arrived, Rickert says they found Box with some items from several cars that had been broken into.

The stolen items ranged from power tools to sunglasses.

Box is now being charged with four counts of burglary of an auto.
