Man Killed In Clay County Crash

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – MHP responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup that occurred on US 45 Alt. Sunday evening around 9PM near Oaks Lane in Clay County.

A 2002 blue Yamaha motorcycle driven by 31 year old Clinton Phillip Wright of West Point was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it collided with a 2008 Chevrolet pickup that was attempting to enter the north bound lanes driven by 17 year old Carson Wedel of West Point.

Mr. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clay County Coroner while Mr. Wedel sustained no injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
