Oxford Middle School Student Prompts Investigation

OXFORD, Miss. — Oxford School District (OSD) officials confirm they are cooperating with an ongoing investigation by local, state and federal law enforcement regarding a verbal threat made by an Oxford Middle School (OMS) student.

The OMS student involved in the ongoing law enforcement investigation has been disciplined for a separate violation of the Oxford School District Code of Conduct.

Law enforcement officials opened the investigation on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, after another Oxford Middle School student reported the verbal threats made against the school to the OMS School Resource Officer.

Because the investigation is ongoing, Oxford School District officials cannot release the identity of any school students involved or details surrounding the law enforcement investigation.
