Teen Killed in Union Co. Wreck

UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi state troopers are investigating a wreck that killed a New Albany teenager Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 30 East, near the Prentiss County line.

Troopers say 18-year-old Kurt Stevens was heading westbound, when he lost control of his pickup truck and left the road.

His truck then crashed into a tree and caught fire.

Stevens died at the scene.

His passenger, 20-year-old Caleb Dillard of Myrtle, was airlifted to a Memphis hospital.

He’s listed in serious condition.
