Video: MUW Names New Dean of Students

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Caledonia native and Mississippi State University graduate is the new dean of students at Mississippi University for Women.

After conducting a national search to find a permanent dean of students, MUW administrators decided to stay in house and name Sirena Cantrell to the post.

Cantrell has served as interim dean since September 2013, and as director of housing and student life for the past five years. In 2012, she was chosen MUW Staff Member of the Year.

Cantrell will oversee a number of areas at the Columbus campus, including residence life and campus recreation.
