NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – Plans to more than double the size of the Union County Heritage Museum are back on track. The museum board is expected  to award a 1.1 million dollar contract Monday for the work.

The museum will be expanded from 4 to 10 thousand square feet to include the William Faulkner Library, the Chico Foote wildlife collection, sports exhibition space and other areas.

The State has allocated $500,000.00 for the project and the library has raised another $500,000.00 but still needs more donations.

Work should start next month and be finished next spring.
