Alabama Announces 2016 Football Schedule

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WCBI/UA Athletics) – The 2016 Alabama football schedule was finalized Thursday and includes seven games inside Bryant-Denny Stadium plus a neutral-site contest against Southern California and four Southeastern Conference road games.

The Crimson Tide opens the season against Southern California at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It marks the second straight year Alabama has opened the season in Arlington and the third time since 2012. Alabama_Logo2

In league play, the Tide will host Kentucky, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Auburn while traveling to Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU next season.

The Crimson Tide also host three non-conference games at Bryant-Denny Stadium, including Western Kentucky (Sept. 10), Kent State (Sept. 24) and Chattanooga (Nov. 19).

The game with the Kent State marks Saban’s second meeting with his alma mater at Alabama. Saban graduated from Kent State University in 1973, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. He began his coaching career there under Don James as a graduate assistant and earned a master’s degree in sports administration in 1975.

Alabama opens league play with at Ole Miss on Sept. 17, and then opens the SEC home slate on Oct. 1, against Kentucky, which begins a run of four straight games against SEC competition before an open date on October 29. The Tide travels to LSU on Nov. 5, and then finishes with three straight home games Mississippi State (Nov. 12), Chattanooga (Nov. 19) and Auburn (Nov. 26).

The 2016 SEC Championship Game is slated to be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
