STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI Sports) – The Mississippi State football team took a comfortable lead in the third quarter to beat Louisiana Tech 45-20 Saturday after trailing 14-0 early in the game.

The Bulldogs (5-2, 1-2 SEC) took a 24-17 lead into halftime after La Tech’s hot start behind former University of Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel.

MSU senior quarterback Dak Prescott finished 30-for-43 passing for 347 yards and three touchdowns, adding 34 yards and a score on the ground. Junior wide receiver De’Runnya Wilson had 85 yards receiving and caught two touchdown passes.

Prescott passed former Ole Miss QB Eli Manning for touchdowns responsible for in the SEC, moving into eighth place all-time. He joined Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel as the only SEC players with at least 50 passing and 30 rushing touchdowns. Prescott now owns every single MSU program career passing record. He has 23 school records total.

State will resume conference play when it hosts Kentucky next Sat., Oct. 24. Kick off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. It’ll be televised on the SEC Network.
