STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The times are changing in the SEC.

If you’re not building or renovating your facilities in college athletics, you’re not keeping up.

Mississippi State is certainly keeping up with the times, as the Bulldogs are putting the finishing touches on their beautiful new softball complex.

The $6.4 million dollar project will be unveiled on Thursday against Georgia Southern, when we will see the brand new Nusz Park play its first softball game since renovation began ten months ago.

Over 300,000 pounds of steel and 2.8 million pounds of concrete went into the brand new facility, which also features 1,000 maroon chair-back seats and a standing room only area above the main seating area.

A bridge also connects the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre and Nusz Park so fans can go from the two complexes with ease.

WCBI will be on-hand for the first pitch at the new Nusz Park coming up Thursday, which will take place at 5:30pm.
