COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency brought first responders of all kinds together today in Lowndes County.

In preparation for the upcoming storm season, EMA Director, Cindy Lawrence led fire, police, hospital, media, volunteer, highway patrol, and energy officials through various worst-case scenarios. Each team stated how they would react and contribute in a down to the minute fashion should certain disasters happen.

They also discussed past problems, such as, effectively helping parents reach their children should a disaster occur near a school building. The various teams worked together by offering  opinions and reaching conclusions on how to better serve the community in the future during times of crisis.
