STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Some kids dream of having their toy trucks come to life and some finally got their wish.

The first Touch-a-Truck event was hosted in the Sportsplex parking lot in Starkville where kids and parents had a chance to explore a variety of over 20 vehicles such as fire engines, police cars, construction trucks, and big rigs. The children also learned about the different jobs each driver does while on duty. All proceeds will benefit Volunteer Starkville, a nonprofit organization that strives to connect volunteers with local nonprofits throughout the community.
