ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)-A principal who was removed from an Amory school two years ago has been named principal at Aberdeen Elementary. Leigh Todd takes over July 1st after most recently serving as transformational leader with the school improvement grant in Okolona. She replaces Angie Irvin who is moving to the district’s central office. Todd was fired in March 2011 as principal at West Amory Elementary for punishing a student by making him walk around for hours with his tongue sticking out. Todd sued the district over her firing and they settled that lawsuit earlier this year.

that’s nothing. when I was in elementary school (late 1960s) my teacher took me to the bathroom and made me wash my mouth out with soap for chewing on the end of my hair. nothing was done to her. times sure have changed.
