Ole Miss Mourns Park Stevens

OXFORD, Miss. – A Columbus family is in mourning after a collision claims the life of their son.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a Ford Ranger collided into the back of a tractor trailer on Highway 45 Alternate, near Egypt Road.

Friends of the family tell WCBI that driver of the Ford Ranger, Park Stevens, was fatally injured. Stevens played on the offensive line at New Hope High School, before walking onto the University of Mississippi squad. Coach Hugh Freeze has expressed his condolences to the Stevens family.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Park played offensive line for the first time as a senior at New Hope School.
