Alcorn Jail Picks Interim Warden

CORINTH, Miss. (AP) – An acting warden takes over the Alcorn County Regional Jail on Monday and will serve until a permanent appointment can be made, probably early in the new year.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1uNk9Fg ) Roger Settlemires, chief of security, was appointed interim warden by the Board of Supervisors during a special meeting Wednesday.

Irb Benjamin, president of Mississippi Corrections Management of Jackson, notified the board last week that his company would no longer serve as the management company for the jail after Nov. 30.
