CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy escapes serious injury in a car accident last night.
Deputy John Lephicer was responding to a disturbance call in West Clay County around 11:00, when he hydroplaned on the wet road and hit a tree.
The accident happened near the intersection of highways 50 and 47.
Lephicer was treated for a slight concussion at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
The patrol car suffered extensive damage.
