Pet Snakes Escape Homes

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Animal control officers in Starkville have had a busy month.

Officials caught a 7 foot long Peruvian Red Tail Boa Constrictor and a smaller Boa Constrictor near the streets of Campus Trail and Mary Lee Lane.

Officials say the snakes escaped from their owners.

“You really need to do your research, find out what problems you’re going to have down the road. And we’d like for people to know if there is a problem they can call us anytime. We’ll be glad to take care of it. Come get the snake and get him to a good home, ” says Starkville Animal Control officer Richard McKee.

McKee says that if you may be facing a fine if you let an exotic animal go.
