COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — In the wake of numerous bomb threats, Columbus Municipal School District Officials met with parents this evening at Columbus Middle School. Before a question and answer session, officials went over bomb threat procedures to include closer monitoring of rooms and bathrooms to protect kids. Approximately two days of academic instruction time have been lost so far. Parents we spoke with say they are discouraged by the disruptive threats but are relieved when assured of there being a safe educational environment for their children.

“That they are on top of the problem and they are working on it,” said concerned parent, Ronda Evans. “And I hope that we do not have any more threats this year.”

Reco Bailey said, “Kids got to grow up. Parents got to get a hold to them, teach them the right thing to do.”

If bomb threats continue, lost time in the classroom may have to be made good.
