Over 200 people in Canton are Being Tested for TB

CANTON, Miss. ( WCBI) –About 200 workers in Canton and their families are being tested for Tuberculosis.

The Mississippi Department of Health says one worker tested positive for the illness at the Peco Food Plant, raising concerns that some of their coworkers could be infected.

A Mississippi Department of Health spokeswoman says the worker is no longer at the plant and there are no ongoing health risks to the public.
She says Peco is being cooperative and is paying for the blood tests.
