$30 million in lottery profits to go to improving highways throughout state

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – The first profits from the Mississippi lottery will go to improving highways throughout the state.

The first $30 million in lottery earnings will go to pavement restoration projects.

The first of the lottery earnings will be deposited on January 20.

The Mississippi Department of Transporation has not announced which highways will be repaved and resurfaced yet.

The law that created the Mississippi lottery says the first $80 million in earnings will go to state road and bridge repairs.
