Former Sulligent Policeman gets 15 years in prison for child sex crime

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WCBI)- A former Sulligent police officer will spend 15 years in prison for sexual abuse.

Gary Farrior, 62, plead guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 back in February.

Wednesday, Farrior was sentenced to 15 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Investigators say allegations came to them, that Farrior had sexually abused several children at his home in Sulligent in early June of 2017. During that time, investigators say he was employed as an officer at Sulligent PD.

Farrior is not eligible for parole and after being released he will have to comply with the requirements of the Alabama Sex offender Registration.
