Tupelo Police investigate armed robbery

TUPELO, Miss (WCBI)-The Tupelo Police Department is investigating an armed robbery.

Early Wednesday morning, around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to Express Shop on South Eason Boulevard for a reported armed robbery.

A witness told police a black man wearing all black clothing robbed them at gunpoint.

With help from the K-9 unit, officers tracked down and detained a person of interest near 1800 South Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

No one was injured.

This is an ongoing investigation.
