Habitat for Humanity building house for local family
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An exciting day for Habitat for Humanity and one area family who will soon move into their new home.
Crews were hard at work Tuesday putting a metal roof on a habitat home.
The home is located on 12th Avenue North in Columbus.
This is the first time executive director Kathy Arinder said they’ve opted to use a metal roof on a habitat home.
It wasn’t possible though without the help of some big area industries.
“We’re very appreciative of the donation of the coil from Steel Dynamics and they’re contribution throughout the process of building this house. We’re also thankful for Magnum Metals who came out here to donate their time and energy to help us put the metal roof on this house today,” said Arinder.
Arinder said a metal roof will be easier to maintain.
