Forum planned for Lowndes County superintendent finalists

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A new superintendent is expected to be in place at Lowndes County schools by January 1.

The next step in the hiring process will come in November. Board members for the Lowndes County School district are holding a forum.

Finalists for the job will make a 10-minute presentation on November 12. Each is expected to share their vision for the district.

The finalists will participate in a question and answer session.

The school board members are seeking questions from all stakeholder groups including school district personnel, parents, community members, and business leaders.

Then board members will select the questions. Representatives from each member’s district will complete rating forms following the forum. That input will be considered in the final hiring decision.
